Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety refers to a general feeling of worry, unease, nervousness, or fear that's usually either linked to anticipation of a future event or anxiety that presents itself during specific situations (such as in public, on an airplane, or in social situations).  Although a normal feeling we all experience at times, it can interfere with life when the degree of it causes feelings of panic, prevents you from functioning well in various areas of life, or causes you to avoid things that might trigger an anxious response.  It presents itself in many different ways and can range from moderate to severe intensity.

Anxiety can be treated effectively using a combination of Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  CBT is an approach to therapy that puts an emphasis on identifying and challenging the thinking patterns that lead to anxiety and other unwanted feelings.  Exposure Therapy refers to a systematic therapy approach that involves gradually exposing oneself to anxiety-provoking situations in order to become desensitized to the thing that's causing distress.

Below is a list of different types of anxiety we help people resolve:

  • Social Anxiety
  • General Anxiety and Worry
  • Panic Attacks
  • Specific Phobias or Fears
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
