About Sara Fox, MA

Hello, let me introduce myself! My name is Sara and I am originally from New Jersey. Six years ago I decided I needed to escape the cold snowy winters and moved to Tampa for my undergraduate degree. I now call Tampa my home. I enjoy exploring the Tampa Bay beaches, trying new restaurants around the area, and traveling with my friends and family.

Why I became a Counselor?

I became a counselor due to watching a close family member overcome mental health obstacles. I was the person that he felt most comfortable confiding in about his mental health and it always made me feel special as I was growing up. It made me realize that if I could help him, I could probably help many other individuals.

Education, Experience, and Approach
Float on Counseling, LLC – Therapist

I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida. I am also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and have a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from The University of Tampa in 2019. I then went on to receive my Masters degree in Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling from The University of South Florida in 2021. I love working with children and adolescents and try to make therapy a fun and enjoyable experience for all. Prior to working in a private practice setting I worked in a research hospital with children and teenagers with ADHD. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns such as, anxiety, depression, ADHD/ ADD, self esteem issues and daily life stressors.

My approach is to be collaborative. We will be teammates throughout the therapy process! I utilize Cognitive- Behavioral therapy to help mange mental health symptoms and change unhealthy thinking patterns. Together we will work towards your individual goals that we will specifically tailor to your needs.
